The cabin is a fixer-upper … needs a new roof, some sheet rock work on ceilings (old leaks in roof ), it needs a new back deck, and HVAC works but is old. Cabin has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The terrace level has a large rec room with a woodburning stove, bedroom, bathroom and laundry in it. The main (upper) floor has 2 bedrooms (one has a private bath and access to the deck with great mountain view & the other uses a hall bath). The family room features a huge stacked stone wood burning fireplace and the kitchen cabinets are custom, solid wood and beautiful! The kitchen area has a breakfast counter and also a dining area near access to the door leading to the covered side deck. The kitchen, dining and family room are all open to each other and the family room has sliding glass doors and windows that take in and give access to the deck with a great mountain view. The taxes on the undivided interest are split between the three cabin owners each year and there is a shared well and road maintenance agreement between them as well. All of the current owners use their cabins as a second get away homes and rentals are not allowed. You may rent or lend the cabin out to family and friends, but not to the general public (no AirB&B or such). If you are into hiking, you can catch the Appalachian trail (Woody Gap Trailhead) just 5 miles up the mountain or you can drive over and start at Blood Mountain as it is just 13 miles away. Like to fish? Dockery Lake is just 4.8 miles from the cabin and Lake Winfield – Scott is 11 miles away. Take a swim under a waterfall in the Pisgah rec area at Dick’s Creek (our best kept secret) … only 8 miles from the cabin. Vogel State Park is 16 miles away, Blairsville is 25 miles away, Cleveland is 16 miles away, Helen (and Unico State Park & Anna Ruby Falls is 24 miles away. And for the fun, but, not so much into hiking and biking and fishing folks …. there are 3 wineries very close to each other (Frogtown, Kaya, Three Sisters) about 7 miles away and Cavender Creek Winery (my favorite!) is 9.7 miles from the cabin. There is something for everyone for sure! Please make an appointment if you want to see the property as it is posted “no trespassing” and behind a locked gate. Do not walk around the gate as one of the cabins is visited often and random people walking up and down the road might upset them. The cabin will be available for show starting Friday (Jan 20th) afternoon.
